Rachel Tepper
A Washington, DC area native, Rachel was forced to begin playing violin at age 5 and has thanked her parents ever since.
She switched from the violin to singing in college when she joined After Dark, a co-ed a cappella group at Washington University
in St. Louis.
Rachel is also an freelance journalist and authors the DC culture blog,
Plight of
the Pumpernickel. She has an unhealthy obsession with Photoshop, can use chopsticks better than Mr. Miyagi and has a tendency
to doodle on everything.
Her musical influences are many, but top among them are Guster, Ben Folds, Adele and Aimee Mann. Oh, and Journey, because what singer
isn't inspired by Journey? I'm just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world.
Rachel is a little quirky, but it isn't clinical.
